Project Support
Through partnerships with individuals and organizations with direct access to, and involvement in, Aboriginal communities, EON helps develop and implement sustainable programs that have the buy-in of communities.
Community ownership, through the acceptance of community elders and members that they want and need a program, is important to maximising the impact of a project. It is a prerequisite to EON pledging support for a project that it has community backing and the potential to be self-sustaining within the community. That support may take the form of funding, advice and mentoring, or in-kind assistance.
In this way, programs it supports are designed and implemented in an effective manner, as opposed to programs that are imposed on Aboriginal people and communities and often fail.
